Hi my name’s Livvy May and I’m a kissaholic!
Yep, you heard me, I love kissing… I love kissing my boyfriend, my nieces and nephews, puppies, parents, friends, you name it, I like to kiss it. However, all that kissing can make a lady’s lips awfully dry which is why I’ve always relied on Carmex. It’s quite often you’ll find me wearing bold, bright lips in a majority of my shoots but underneath the rich colour keeping my lips well-conditioned is Carmex. Carmex is one of the world’s most loved lip balms with the popular brand selling one of their amazing products every 29 seconds in Australia. Combining beautiful ingredients including lanolin, theobroma cacao seed butter, beeswax and menthol, the brand is best known for its famous Carmex ‘tingle’ and long-lasting moisturising effects. Love that tingle! What I also love about Carmex is their longevity in a crowded beauty market and their support of programs including Liptember.
Liptember is an initiative that is run in conjunction with Chemist Warehouse, My Chemist and Fernwood Fitness Centres to raise awareness and funds for women’s health issues including depression, anxiety, postnatal depression, eating disorders and more. Liptember works by individuals sporting brightly coloured lips throughout the month of September and raising money for the Liptember charities (sounds easy enough to me). Carmex is the official lip balm partner of Liptember, and is donating 100% of profits from the Carmex products sold on the counters of supporting Liptember outlets directly to the Liptember charity.
As a woman who has experienced health complications which affected my mental wellbeing, I believe in bringing initiatives such as Liptember to the forefront as it’s vital we openly discuss the fears and struggles we’ve experienced and ensure lifelines and community support efforts are put in place. In the day and age we live, I think it’s hard for anyone to say they haven’t been affected by mental illness in some way, whether it be themselves, a friend, a family member or work colleague, many people are dealing with a mental struggle of some sort and often these struggles can go unspoken, therefore remaining in the dark. Carmex along with Liptember want to bring these struggles to the surface and raise much needed funds for the Centre for Women’s Mental Health and Lifeline.
So, what can you do? To raise funds simply purchase a Carmex product, sold at Liptember friendly outlets such as My Chemist, Chemist Warehouse and My Beauty Spot and to raise awareness don a bright lip and upload to social media using the hashtag #kissawaytheblues to spread the word about this very important cause. What are you waiting for, pucker up, get snapping and keep those kissable lips healthy with Carmex!
