Cruising Crows Nest

Since I moved to Sydney late last year, I quickly became an eastern suburbs girl! I didn’t mean for it to happen but alas I’ve heard it often does.

So you can imagine my reluctance to cross the bridge to have brunch with the lovely Lady Marv aka my fabulous friend, Jamie. Jamie lives at Crows Nest and after numerous dates over my way I decided I needed to venture over to the dark side. That’s right, I had to drive over the Habour Bridge, a task I find slightly daunting. However, I’m glad I did because there are many delights to discover in Crows Nest.

As a local, Jamie took to me to one of her fave eateries, St Malo’s Bakery. With a revamped brekkie menu and drool worthy bakery attached, I was in foodie heaven! I opted for the Tuscan Baked Eggs, which were rich in flavour with a hint of smoky chorizo in a tomato based sauce and of course I ordered my usual side of avocado as there’s nothing better than a good schmear of avo on toast. Right?

After copious amounts of coffee or as Lady Marv would say, ‘kawfee’ we cruised the streets of Crows Nest venturing in and out of vintage stores, op shops and uncovering secret lane-ways perfect for sipping coffee and gossiping about our Saturday nights!

All in all, Crows Nest was well worth the screams I produced whilst driving over the Harbour Bridge.
