Spring is in the air and I for one couldn’t be happier!
Being a Queenslander, I don’t take too kindly to the cold, hence why I escaped most of the Sydney winter and headed to the states (more on that in a future post), so when spring sprung up this week I was a happy little fashionista. Spring is a time where the days start to warm as the sun peers through but at night there’s still a slight chill in the air which means transition items are key to the spring season.
I start work very early in the morning but since returning back from the USA, the coats have been packed away and the leather jackets remained out to play. A simple leather jacket is an absolute must in any wardrobe – it’s a classic, a basic, an essential and goes with absolutely everything. It can be dressed up with a sexy nighttime dress and a choker or statement earings or dressed down with jeans, sneakers and a tee.
If the leather jacket has a lot of detail, keep the accessories simple and the remainder of the outfit fitted. This woolen skirt from Seed is perfect for the season as it shows off the legs (and let’s face it after winter they need some sun) but the texture and fabric is super warm and cosy making it perfect for nights out with a pair of black boots. These boots from Spurr are spot on too as they have cut-outs on the side which make them ideal to team with bare skin.
Teaming gold details with a bold maroon lip is also a personal favourite of mine. It lifts a dark outfit and adds a hint of sex appeal – which leading into summer is never a bad thing. Mac does a beautiful shade of maroon called Diva which I have been wearing for years and has become an absolute staple in my beauty bag.
Are there any shades you’re loving for spring? Love to hear about them.
Lotsa love, LM xx
