As the weekend approaches, it got me thinking what’s the perfect way to spend my day?
Yes, it would be swell to say it’s somewhere overseas on a glorious beach or shopping up a storm in Paris or perhaps just being back in Noosa, Queensland and with my family. These are all versions of my perfect day but if I had to describe my ideal Saturday or Sunday here in Sydney where I live it would go a little like this….
Morning: I live in Bronte and I absolutely love it, especially the fact I can wake up and walk to either Bondi or Coogee and explore some of Sydney’s best beaches. This always begins though with some fuel in the belly and lucky for me Bronte is full of amazing eateries. If you wish to dine somewhere pretty much right on Bronte Beach then Ex-Lounge is a fine choice with all your staple brekkie choices made with a sprinkle of something special. My man, who is more often than not my usual brunch partner quite often opts for Eggs Benedict whenever we’re brunching (let’s call is a search for the best beno) and Ex-Lounge was right up there with some of the best.
Midday: This is where I love to nip over to Bondi and check out the North Bondi markets. If it’s a Saturday there’s food galore and so much fresh fruit and veg and on a Sunday it’s all about fashion, jewellery and home wares. What delights me most is the fresh flowers, there’s nothing I love more than an abundance of fresh flowers making my home smell and look divine! If you decide to stay Bronte side then Eugene’s is a great spot for lunch with a great atmosphere, all day breakfasts and scrumptious sandwiches. After lunch either explore some of Bronte’s amazing home ware boutiques situated on Bronte road or simply park yourself down the beach for a spot of sun or a BBQ in the park.
Evening: This is one of my favourite places to eat out and not just for dinner but for breakfast and lunch as well. Three Blue Ducks is a small, intimate licensed restaurant located a short stroll up the hill from Bronte beach. The food is of the highest quality reflecting the head chefs’ fine dining resumes, but is served in a casual cafe setting. There are too many amazing options for dinner that I think it’s best to go with a few friends and share some of the large dishes, simply so you can sample a little of everything (my favouirite way to eat).
However for lunch, you can’t go past the Lamb shoulder, pickled beetroot, goat milk with zucchini, frisee, pea and mint salad. Simple to die for and accompanied by a glass of sav blanc you’ve pretty much got the perfect lunchtime option. For breakfast, I usually opt for the bircher muesli with yoghurt, pear and apple (I often frequent this place on the odd occasion I’m in a healthy mood on the weekend) which doesn’t disappoint. It’s colourful, tasty and pleases the palette and the senses both taste wise and sight wise. Enjoy with a fresh coconut or two and you’ll be buzzing with healthy vibes for the remainder of the day.
So, have I sold Bronte to you yet? Trust me, visit there once and no selling will be required, it’s bliss!
You might be thinking why this outfit? It’s a mixture for all occasions, little bit of summer, little bit of going out and a whole lotta monochrome! I’m quite a fan of wearing my triangle swimwear black patent bikini top as outerwear and I think with the fab white leather vest from MLM is keeps the look cool and casual whereas the bottom half give the look a night time vibe. So have a play around, experiment and be ballsy, it’s Bronte after all!
