Getting lost in the lost journals

It’s safe to say I’ve been in full on wedding mode since getting engaged in December. Well perhaps not everything – I’m still drinking far too much wine and stuffing my face with chocolate every night. But in terms of ideas for the big day and how best to illustrate the order of events I’ve discovered a photo journal is an ideal way to keep the memories alive. The Lost Journals is a service designed to archive your life, beautifully. They take the hard work out of creating an album and design your photo journal for you, turning your celebrations, milestones, special events and travels into a printed keepsake. It’s exactly what I was looking for – a contemporary photo album that doesn’t require me to print out a thing. Because let’s face it, I’d rather be sunning myself and drinking cocktails on my honeymoon.

Founder, Tracey Johnson (who has had ten years in the photographic and graphic design industry) wanted to create a contemporary product and service, which made it really easy for clients. You simply enter a few details, upload your images and the book is designed for you (however, you get final sign off before it goes away for printing).  Perfect for milestones and events or simply capturing a stage in one’s life. I asked Tracey to create a book of all the shoots we’ve done together for Livvy May, simply so I could have a coffee table style book to look back through and remember how much fun we had on particular shoots and how I wish I had my former figure ;).

Similar to the feel and texture of  magazines like ‘Frankie’ and ‘Hello May’,  the final product encapsulates professional photography, making it the perfect way to showcase not only a photographer’s work but how a particular day or period played out. The vivid colours and beautiful paper feels so lovely to touch and is the perfect addition to our coffee table at home 😉

If you have something special coming up I cannot recommend these books more highly – you can even have your vows included within the design. Let’s hope my hubby to be writes something worth pringing! Everything you need to know about The Lost Journals can be found here. Tracey and her team are also super hands on with everything they do so be sure to drop them a line to discuss what you have in mind for capturing your most treasured moments.

Before I depart, as your head swims with ideas on capturing your most precious memories in magazine format – let me run you through my outfit of the day. If I could live in any style of outfit this would be it. For me, you cannot beat a striiped T-shirt dress, jacket and sneakers – it’s quite literally the perfect daytime ensemble. Exuding casual to its fullest and finest – it’s also comfy, affordable and suits all ages.

I love this combo from LA based fashion house Tobi – the dress is comfortable and looks great with sneakers or sandals as you transition between seasons. The faux suede jacket is definitely one of their more luxe items (at an affordable price) as the fabric is super soft and the colour works with just about anything. You can wear it over the dress or wrapped around the waist. It’s the perfect style to wear with jeans, leather skirts or over an LBD and heels for a nighttime look.

Let me know what style of outfit you could live in forever….
Lotsa love, LM xx
