YogaBar opens up in Sydney

YogaBar has launched in Sydney and I went along to see what all the fuss was about.

This new  fitness concept incorporates two studios, a whole food café serving smoothies, bowls, pots, salads and raw desserts, and an active wear retail space with brands such as lululemon, Vie, This is First Base, Nimble and Dharma Bums. It’s a beautiful space and conveniently located in the food court of Westfield in the CBD for those who want a quick workout during their lunch break to alleviate the stress of the daily grind.

I was fortunate enough to go and check it out for myself on my day off last week and it was a super relaxing but invigorating workout.  YogarBar Define was a body/weights and floor combo class which in my opinion had it all! Set to exhilarating music, this sculpting class combines Vinyasa Yoga poses with hand weights, zen and strength. Boosting your metabolism and building lean muscle as you move to upbeat tracks in a heated studio. I really enjoyed this class more so than other yoga classes I’ve done in the past. I find working in a fast-paced newsroom, exercises with more of a hardcore physical element tend to suit me best and this particular style of yoga allowed me to relax (which is what I needed) but also work up a vigorous sweat which appeals to my sense of strong workouts.

After the class, the gorgeous girls at the whole foods cafe made me a smoothie with all my favourite things and tempted me into trying the raw caramel slice which did not disappoint!
